QuicBooks 08/09 and 09/10 Service Packs (Patches) required

There are 2 patches you will need to apply in order to process payment summaries AND be ready for RESC changes in July. If you are intending to stay on QuickBooks 08/09 until after processing payment summaries please ensure you DO download and apply the 08/09 Empdupe patch that is available from http://www.reckon.com.au in the support/sercive packs and downloads area. This will ensure the empdupe file does contain all required information.

You will then need to upgrade to QBi 09/10 PRIOR to producing your first pay in the 09/10 payroll year. You will also need to apply the service pack that will become available from 29th June to ensure your software is compliant for the 09/10 payroll year.

If you are or have upgraded to 09/10, prior to creating employee payment summaries for the 08/09 year the 09/10 empdupe patch must be applied. This will ensure the empdupe file that is created contains all of the correct information to send to the ATO.

After payment summaries have been created you will then be able to download and apply the tax table/superannuation update (which will be available from 29 June 2009). This will then be a very minor job in the middle of your busiest period and ensure your software is compliant with the forthcoming ATO changes.
NOTE: Please ensure payment summaries for the 08/09 year have been produced BEFORE applying the update (tax scales/RESC) patch.
